Preheat your oven to 180°C and prepare a baking tray with baking paper
First combine Butter, Sugar, Baking Powder and Flour into an even, sandy mixture. You want to keep the butter as cold as possible so ideally you should have cold hands or a use a fork to to that.
Now add your milk and mix just until it forms a shaggy dough. You want to avoid overmixing, it will look wrong and ruined but its not - trust me.
Tip the dough out onto a floured worksurface and work it just enough so it stays together. Flatten it into a 2cm high disk and cut out your scones. You can use a glass if you dont have a round cutter.
Place them on the baking sheet and brush the tops with either beaten egg or a bit of milk. If you like you can add an extra sprinkling of sugar to the tops.
Bake them for ca. 15 - 20 Minutes and enjoy, ideally while they are still warm!
